Mackenzie Sound intrudes into the mainland of British Columbia opposite Northern Vancouver Island. Pods of Orcas are a common sight in this area, since the summer Resident Killer Whale count is around three hundred. These waters are teeming with salmon this time of year and the Orcas find that "living is easy".
