Each year in early spring, the bald eagles congregate at the head of inlets and in the major rivers of the West Coast to feed on a small, very oily fish called the Oolachan, which spawns annually. The end of the winter heralds a vast array of animals preying upon the little fish and the eagle is no exception. Mated for life, this pair can be seen hunting in the tide waters of the Skeena River.
